Dan Haren Would Look Great In Pinstripes

Posted by Mark McCray |

Just read this article talking about the potential availability of Oakland A's starting pitcher, Dan Haren, written by Phil Rogers over at the Chicago Tribune.

He says:
"All-Star Game starter Dan Haren in play for a possible blockbuster trade.

Haren (15-9, 3.07 in 34 starts) has been one of the American League's most reliable starters in the three seasons since he was acquired from St. Louis for Mark Mulder. He is under Oakland's control for three more years at the ridiculously affordable total of $16.25 million."

He goes onto say that Oakland would be interested in a trade with the Yankees for Phil Hughes or Ian Kennedy. In my opinion, Hughes is off limits in this scenario but Kennedy could be on my trading block. If you could throw the A's Kennedy or Alan Horne and maybe some other minor prospects-- Cashman could have something there that he should seriously consider. Dan Harens numbers compare to those of Andy Pettite and we all know how valuable Andy has been to the Yankees. Just something to think about...

P.S.- He would also have to get a nice shave and a haircut, but hey remember Johnny Damon?
