A-Rod Contract To Include Major Incentives...

Posted by Mark McCray |

It looks as though negotiations are pretty much winding down with A-Rod and the Yankees. Apparently, Alex Rodriguez' new contract with the Yanks will include the possibility for A-Rod to make more than $30 million dollars in incentives over the next 10 years as he reaches home run milestones. Bryan Hoch from Yankees.com explains:

"The Yankees could designate each level as a historic event, enabling Rodriguez to receive the added money in exchange for additional personal appearances and signed memorabilia for the club. That enabled the agreement to be allowed by the players' association and the Commissioner's Office. Baseball generally prohibits bonuses based on statistics such as home runs."
With that $30 million dollars, A-Rod is poised to make over $305 million in the next 10 years. Look for him to officially re-sign as early as Monday.
