Yankees Close Hawkins Deal

Posted by Mark McCray |

Reliever LaTroy Hawkins, who agreed to a one- year deal worth $3.75 million Sunday, will take a physical either on Tuesday or Wednesday of this week.

According to CBSSporstline.com:
"Hawkins joined the Rockies before last season and went 2-5 with a 3.42 ERA in 62 appearances. It was a comeback year for the former closer. He is no longer a candidate to save games, but his ERA could prove useful as a middle reliever in those really deep formats that use true middle men."

This is not to bad. A one year deal I can stomach. Will be posting more as it comes available.

Also Hawkins wasn't a typed free agent while Viz is a type B. We dont surrender a draft pick and we get one for Viz. Remember when we lost Flash Gordan, who did we draft with the draft pick we got for him, that's right Joba Chamberlain, nice.

Bill. Great point. Supposedly there is some great talent that will fall to the Yankees with that pick because of signability issues with the draftees. Thanks for coming and commenting!!!
