Scott Boras Makes a Point? And A Missing Baseball.

Posted by Anonymous |

There are two somewhat comical stories floating around the internet tonight.

First and foremost, Scott Boras has made a declaration that the Yankees should treat Alex no different than any other free agent, i.e. Jorge Posada. This raises a very interesting issue in my mind. Has Scott Boras actually said something intelligent? Mo and Jorgie are testing the free agent waters the same exact way that A Rod has chosen to. If nothing else, this must make you think about the fact that it is not Alex's fault that the Rangers agreed to such a stupid contract. I think most people in Alex's situation, may have done the same thing. After all, at the end of the day it is still a business. This does not by any means excuse the timing or Boras' lame excuses, but it is just something to think about. 154 RBI's are a lot. If Joba and the boys have any growing to do, 154 RBI's would certainly make mistakes a lot easier to overcome.

On to the one of the most comical things I have heard in some time. The "ball" is missing yet again. The Red Sox, notably Jason Varitek claims to have given it to Papelbon after the final out, but now Papelbon claims to have no idea where it is. Why is the third out baseball from your second World Championship in four years even an issue? Who cares where the ball is? I leave you with a thought to ponder...is there any chance that Pedro Martinez's good luck charm (that midget) snuck into the Boston clubhouse and stole it?

Go Bombers!
