Duncan Hospitalized With Blood Clot

Posted by Mark McCray |

From Mark Feinsand and Michael O'Keeffe of the New York Daily Post:

"Shelley Duncan, the Yankees' hard-hitting rookie, was hospitalized last week with a blood clot. A source close to the team told the Daily News yesterday that Duncan was hospitalized for two days last week because of the clot, but the 28-year-old player should not have any long-term problems. "It's nothing serious," the source said. "Everything is going to be fine." Yankee general manager Brian Cashman and Duncan's agent, Barry Meister, did not return calls for comment."

Now, I could be wrong, but maybe it was all the crazy forearm bashing that took place last season? To be quite honest, I bet he was out in the woods practicing the forearm bash on a tree in preparation for next years dugout celebrations. But however it happened, lets all cross our fingers and hope for a speedy recovery. Shelley will be a very valuable piece to the puzzle next year. He has got to stay healthy. If that means no more forearm bashing--so be it.
