Are You Kennedying Me?

Posted by Mark McCray |

Apparently, the Twins are prepared to rob from the rich if it means giving up Santana in a trade to the Yanks or the Red Sux.

Reports have said that the "Twins were not wowed" by the Yankees throwing Phil Hughes on the trading block along with Melky Cabrera. In addition to this insane comments, sources have also said that Ian Kennedy would have to be included in any Hughes/Cabrera deal, however, this has apparently changed over the last 24 hours.

Supposedly, the Twins came off the demand for Kennedy at some point last night, but they remained insistent on getting another high-level prospect. A Yankee source last night said such negotiating over a third prospect "shouldn't be a deal-breaker."

Well, it shouldn't be a deal breaker but that all depends on who that "high level prospect" turns out to be. Rumor has it that the Yankees have told the Twins that if they were to deal them Hughes and Cabrera--Ian Kennedy, Dellin Betances, Alan Horne, Austin Jackson, and Jose Tabata would all be off limits.

Personally, I am getting a little tired of all of this. It's getting to the point now where I am not so convinced that trading away our young guys like the Melk-Man and Phil Hughes is a very good decision. I guess I will have to like it either way, but I am still really hoping the Yankees get Santana for significantly less than what has been reported this far. Probably a long shot, but who knows?
