Cashman Given Authority To Name Manager

Posted by Mark McCray |

Brian Cashman has apparently been endorsed by Hank & Hal and King George to make the final recommendation on the next manager of the New York Yankee's, however, the decision is not going to come until the completion of the World Series (which fortunately and unfortunately will probably be over pretty quick). This move could possibly be the first real implementation of the "Performance Based" system that the royal family tried to kick off with Joe Torre. With one year left on Cashman's contract, this decision may ultimately mean life or death for the GM at the conclusion of the 2008 season. Fair or unfair only time will tell. And besides, baseball is a business right?
