The Yanks have apparently picked up right handed relief pitcher Jonathan Albaladejo from the Washington Nationals in exchange for right-handed starting pitcher, Tyler Clippard.
Here is a little snapshot of Albaladejo:
Full Name: Jonathan Albaladejo
Born: 10/30/1982
Birthplace: San Juan, Puerto Rico
Height: 6'5" Weight: 250
Bats: Right
Throws: Right
College: Miami Dade CC North, FL
MLB Debut: 09/05/2007
In his first Major League season, Albaladejo was 1-1, in 14.1 Innings. He recorded 12 strikeouts with 2 walks and finished the season with a 1.88 ERA.
More on Albaladejo:
"It didn't take long for Albaladejo to get a chance to speak for himself. The day after his callup, Washington starter Tim Redding suffered a shoulder injury while fielding and had to leave the game with one out in the third. Acta called on Albaladejo, who fought off butterflies to retire all five batters he faced, three of them by strikeout."
"I was kind of nervous at the beginning," Albaladejo said, "but after I threw my first pitch, everything was fine. I started taking it as another game. It was awesome. Great feeling."
